Happy 31st

A Happy anniversary to Bob, from his wife of 31 years - me. Dear, it seems like only slightly more than 3 decades we wed. Well, guess it was! Happy 31st.

And for Mom and Dad:
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life

St. Boniface Sunday

Just a notice St. Boniface's 9 a.m. Mass Sunday (Feb. 24) is for Fred and Eunice Berger. Fr. Gus always seems to celebrate such nice Masses for Mom and Dad, making them rather personal. Other Masses this year for Mom and Dad at St. Boniface include 8 a.m. April 18; 9 a.m. June 15; 8 a.m. Aug. 13 and 9 a.m. Sept. 14.

Happy President's Day

For those who have a day off today, enjoy it. For us who don't, enjoy it anyway.
God bless America.

Happy Valentine's Day

OUR FAMILY PRAYER

God made us a family;
We need one another,
We love one another
We forgive one another,
We work together,
We play together,
We worship together.

Together we use God’s word,
Together we grow in Christ,
Together we love all Men,
Together we serve our God,
Together we hope for Heaven.

These are our hopes and ideals.
Help us to attain them, 0 God,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen!

A prayer said from one of the greatest women we've known, Mom. Have a great day, family!

Summer thoughts

We Clevelanders are supposed to be hit by a winter storm of snow up to possibly 8 inches. These Euclid Beach photos might bring some warm memories to mind.

Have a great day, despite the weather.

Lourdes 150th anniversary

Feb. 11 is the 150th anniversary of Our Lady appearing in the grotto at Lourdes, France to three children. Euclid Ohio has a Our Lady of Lourdes grotto which Gerry, Debbie, Bob and I visited today - in 7 degree, windy, freezing weather. Hey, we're Browns fans. Need anything more be said! Like Gerry said, can you imagine what it's like to play ball in this weather?! But it was a very spiritual, yet humbly, experience. Our cheeks may appear red and wind burn, but our hearts were warmed by the beauty and sheer experience.

Memories

I don't have very many pictures of Grandma and Grandpa, however, the memories are simply endless. These pictures for me are priceless. That is Elizabeth at 4 months old, more than 4 1/2 years ago. They were just so in love with her and so proud to hold her and play with her. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all the memories and love that clearly lives on in all of us!! Joyce

Ash Wednesday

Images of Fr., I mean, Monsignor Meckler, (not sure of the spelling here) enter my mind when I think of today. He had a pretty strong hand when placing ashes on the forehead at St. Boniface so many years ago.

And I can smell the perch frying in the W. 44 St. kitchen. Hmmmm. Anyone else remember what we would have for meals on Lenten Fridays? And remember those great fish frys Dad would bring home? Hmmm.

Happy Birthday

A very happy day today to Sophia, the youngest of the sisters-in-law. Couldn't pass up this photo. Here's Sophia at the Pauls/Hertzel Hinckley farm gathering sitting in Bob Paul's car that was built the year of her birthday!

Have a great day, Sophia!

Rambo Ralph of winter

Well, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so bundle up and keep warm. But, regardless of his seeking his shadow or not, it won't be spring for another six weeks anyway. So we're in store for whatever our Cleveland winter dishes out anyway. Remember...lake effect. Have a great February ... and hey, keep warm out there!
